MAKING THE CONNECTION FROM FARMERS’ FIELDS TO RESTAURANT TABLES
RANL AGM – RANL is pleased to announce Christa Wright from Newfoundland Labrador Federation of Agriculture will speak at this year’s AGM, Thursday, Feb 18 at the HNL Summit in Gander.
Ms. Wright will introduce the NLFA to the delegates and speak about the importance of buying and eating local. Part of the talk will include information about the East Coast/West Coast information day planned for Savour food and wine Festival 2010, where farmers and restaurateurs can meet and discuss the issues around supply and demand of local produce.
This is a very timely issue and our province faces some unique challenges with providing a consistent chain of supply and demand of product. RANL will work with NLFA to bring supply and demand together and to ensure the growth of both sectors.
RANL’s AGM will take place from 3 – 5 pm on Thursday, Feb 18, 2010
