Tourist Guide for Newfoundland and Labrador & Saint-Pierre et Miquelon 2009-2010
St. John’s (Newfoundland and Labrador), March 25th, 2009 – Plan effectively your stay in Newfoundland and Labrador thank to an indispensable tool: the French Language Tourist Guide for Newfoundland and Labrador & Saint-Pierre et Miquelon 2009-2010. Published by the Réseau de développement économique et d’employabilité de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador (RDÉE TNL) [NL Economic Development and Employability Network], in collaboration with the Fédération des francophones de Terre-Neuve et du Labrador (FFTNL) [NL Francophone Federation], this guide invites you to discover the Francophone lands of Newfoundland and Labrador as well as the Saint-Pierre et Miquelon archipelago, French islands located 25 km off Newfoundland.
The revitalized 2009-2010 edition is visually attractive and unique thank to the magnificent images received during the photo contest organized for the occasion. The guide presents new elements such as the Guide Images section and four unique suggestions of itinerary to suit every taste. Furthermore, the guide presents the regions with a French or Acadian history, the historic sites, the national and provincial parks, the festivals and much more. The guide also provides travelers with advice and a map of the province.
"This is the fifth edition of the French Language Tourist Guide for Newfoundland and Labrador & Saint-Pierre et Miquelon. The tool has enormously evolved and meets the need of French-speaking tourists. Excellent complement of the provincial Traveller’s Guide, we firmly believe that this guide will charm an increasing numbers of francophone visitors to Newfoundland and Labrador," states Pascal Marchand, Executive Director of the RDÉE TNL.
Forty thousand (40,000) copies are distributed in Canada, France, Belgium and North Africa by the provincial Department of Tourism. Tourists can order their free copy by telephone at 1-800-563-6353 or by the Internet at www.newfoundlandlabrador.com. They will also receive the provincial 2009 Traveller’s Guide and a road map to complete their travel kit. They can also consult the French Language Guide directly online on the Portail des francophones de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador [NL Francophone Web Portal] at www.francotnl.ca/GuidesTouristiques.
The publication of this guide was made possible thank to the generous financial support of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Recreation of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), Canadian Heritage and Comité régional du tourisme (CRT) de Saint-Pierre et Miquelon.
